Minister of Youth and Children Job Description

This is a part-time position.

 

MISSION STATEMENT:

Be called by God to follow Christ in a life of discipleship, utilizing the leadership gifts given by the Holy Spirit to lead youth and children on carrying out the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20) for the purpose of expanding the Kingdom of God

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a born-again believer in Christ
  • Must be mature in the Christian faith and, by conviction, practice the doctrines of the Baptist faith
  • Must be honest, accountable, dependable, self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Must support the programs of the church and demonstrate a spirit of teamwork and faithfulness
  • Must be an ordained minister
  • Graduate of an accredited seminary or currently enrolled in seminary is a plus, but is not required

 

YOUTH PROGRAM:

Plan, conduct, administer, supervise and evaluate a comprehensive Bible study and

fellowship program with the youth in the Church and community to include activities that would encourage teens to grow in their faith. This would include ensuring that during all weekly regular services, there are planned lessons with a specific purpose for all youth centered on the following statements:

  1. REACH teens for Christ
  2. GROW in God's word
  3. SERVE others first
  4. WORSHIP God together
  5. HAVE fun!

CHILDREN PROGRAM:

Plan, coordinate, recruit leaders and ensure leaders are in place to conduct an overall

children ministry for the children in the church and community to include a comprehensive, age-appropriate Biblical study with appropriate benchmark goals set for children from preschool to pre-youth.
