Vision and Mission Statement of FBC

Today's sermon is about the importance of vision and purpose in a local church.  The mission statement of First Baptist Church ~ Wagener consists simply of one word:  Transformation.

Based on Romans 12:1-2, transformation is the key ingredient to prevent a life conformed to the world.  Transformation comes about by renewal of the mind through scripture, prayer and worship.

We hold firm in the importance of three building blocks for the local church:  Connect, Grow and Share.

Connect with God through worship, Romans 12:1.  Connect with others through forgiveness, restoration, eliminating prejudices and preferences, through corporate worship and through Sunday School fellowship and study.

Grow spiritually, I Peter 2:2 and Ephesians 4:4.  Spiritual growth comes about through discipleship and Bible study as we have on Wednesday nights and Sunday School, through hearing the Word from the pulpit and through personal Bible study and prayer.

Share our faith through evangelism, our our individual spiritual gifts and talents by serving, and share our finances through giving.
