Mission

The vision and mission statement of First Baptist Church ~ Wagener consists simply of one word:  Transformation.

Based on Romans 12:1-2, transformation is the key ingredient to prevent a life conformed to the world.  Transformation comes about by renewal of the mind through scripture, prayer and worship.

We hold firm in the importance of three building blocks for the local church:  Connect, Grow and Share.

Connect. We want you to connect with God through worship (Romans 12), and connect with others through forgiveness, restoration, eliminating prejudices and preferences, through corporate worship and through Sunday School fellowship and study.

Grow. (I Peter 2:2 and Ephesians 4:4)  God doesn’t want you to remain spiritually immature. He desires that you grow up and mature as you continue to seek Him. We believe that growth takes place as you plug into God’s Word. Here, that can best take place in the context of a Sunday School class and through our Wednesday night Bible studies.

Share. We want every member of the church actively sharing in 3 areas.

Faith: as you obey Scripture and fulfill the Great Commission.
Spiritual Gifts: finding out how God gifted you and using those gifts to serve in the local church and through personal ministry.
Finances: supporting the local church to carry out the work that God has equipped us to do.
